Nulaz wins Vodafone Mobile Clicks!

Yesterday, we have won the Vodafone Mobile Clicks competition and we received a prize of 60.000 euro from the hands of Guy Laurence (CEO Vodafone NL) and Harry Odenhoven (Director Online Services). We will invest this money in improving our service. Second and third places went to Tipspot and MapTheGap. We thank the organizers (Yuri, SPRX Mobile) and all the positive feedback we’ve gotten so far.

Nulaz hits the Press again: Article in de Pers Today

Today, there was an article about us in Dagblad de Pers. Naturally people start getting interested in Nulaz, and they check it out, so the stats have been going through the roof since this morning (see below). Let’s hope the server stays alive…..

TC50, CTIA, & Mobile Jam Session wrapup: Getting Nulaz on deck in the USA

I’m still in San Francisco but the rush of the conference has worn off and now the tiredness comes in. It’s been a great show for us and a fun couple of days.

It was good that I knew so many people still from the Barcelona conference. Especially the guys from Useful Networks; when I flew in on Wednesday we had dinner and went to the TC50 party, the Greystripe party, and ended up in the Clift where everybody seemed to have a big night, and it went downhill from there.

Motorola StandYahoo Stand

The thing that makes this conference actually interesting is that it’s not as big as Barcelona, and that is more focused towards developers. This means that from every 10 people I meet, there’s a lot more connection and opportunity than meeting the same number of people at Barcelona. It takes a lot of noise away. It’s not as rushed, so you can actually have a conversation instead of just exchanging pitches and business cards.

Friday I attended the Mobile Jam Session which was not only a good event because of the beers, food and phone giveaways, but mostly because there were developers, operators, manufacturers, and signing companies having an open discussion about the difficulties of the industry and how to move forward with them. There was a great animation artist documenting the session. I took a picture from this post, and I can’t wait to see the full version of the artwork.

The difficulties for us to enter the US market would be the BREW issue (porting to yet another platform), getting ourselves on deck (available on their platforms) and location enabled with the providers, as well as updating our handset support with all the models that are out there in the American Market (that strange country where they still use CDMA2000). The last couple of days I’ve gathered the ingredients to start tacking these problems one by one.

iPhone Mobile Website Live

As from today, we have a mobile website for the iPhone. You just go with your iPhone to nulaz.com and everything is there for you. You don’t need to go to a special url. There you have all the features you need to know what’s happening. For the more heavy Nulaz users, we will be launching a Nulaz iPhone application soon.

Meet us at CTIA 2008 in San Francisco 10-12 Sept.

We’re going to CTIA in San Francisco next week. Please contact us if you want to schedule a meeting. We don’t have a booth yet, but we will hack one. Just like we will hack ourselves into the TechCrunch50 . We didn’t get ourselves a $2,995 ticket, but we’ll see you there!

We will be doing some live mobile video blogging on the conference, so stay tuned.

Nulaz finalist Vodafone Mobile Clicks Competition

We are proud to announce that we are one of the 6 finalists of the Vodafone Mobile Clicks competition.

The finals will be held at Picnic conference, the 26th of September. We can win a 100.000 Euro, which will help us a lot in improving our service and getting us more out there.

New Office

Last Friday, we have moved to the Plantage Middenlaan 31. We are fully installed now, and are glad to have everything up and running again. We have a nice Kindergarten next to us, and cafe Koosje has a team of new frequents….feel free to drop by if you are in the neighborhood; office warmings are held on friday afternoons.
